Welcome to Hiroshima! Finally travelled 700km from Kanazawa to Hiroshima and this in 4.5 hours with a layover of 30min in Shin-Osaka. I like the Japanese Railway System! :) The whole trip was covered by the Japan Rail Pass. Make sure you catch a limited express train from Kanazwa to Shin-Osaka (about 2.5h) and from Shin-Osaka a Shinkansen (about 90min) to Hiroshima. I arrived in the afternoon so I still had enough time do discover the Atomic-Bomb Dome with it’s Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. A very sad chapter in history.

On my 2nd day i visited Rabbit Island (Okun0 Island). You can find my blog about that funny island just here :-)

For my 3rd and last day I planned visiting Mitaki Temple (was a short 2min ride from JR Yokogawa station to Mitaki station and was covered by the Japan Rail Pass). From Mitaki station it’s about a 15min walk up. Mitaki temple was free of any entrance fees.

After visiting Mitaki temple I boarded the train again back  to JR Yokogawa station and there was a change for direction Miyajimaguchi. Arrived at Miyajimaguchi it’s just a 3min walk to the JR Ferry Terminal (make sure you take a JR Ferry to Miyajima if you have the Japan Rail Pass).

As a training and saving a little bit of money I decided to climb up to Mt. Misen from Itsukushima Shinto Shrine. It was a 90min exhausting climb but finally the effort was worth it. I could enjoy a beautiful view on top of Mt. Misen.

Because it was already after 5pm I decided to descend by Ropeway. Was a great journey but the (lazy) way down took me only about 15min and 1000YEN!
